Challenge
At AFour Technologies, I helped develop a "virtual startup platform" aimed at connecting early-stage startups with skilled contributors. I worked primarily on the backend, building RESTful APIs using Flask to support user registration, profile management, and startup listings.
I also contributed to the React frontend, collaborating with the design and frontend teams to ensure seamless API integration.
The core feature I developed was a recommendation engine that matched applicants to startups based on skill compatibility and interest overlap. I implemented a lightweight matching algorithm and active search filters to surface the most relevant opportunities in real-time, improving both user engagement and match quality.
